How a radar detector works?

A radar detector or "fuzz buster" is a device you put in your car to detect speed traps by cops. Or to detect if a cop is tracking your speed. A radar system emits electromagnetic waves towards an object, the waves are then bounced off the object back to the receiving device. It then measures the frequency of the wave. This method can be used to detect an objects speed, direction and range. A radar detector works the same as a radio receiver. The radio receiver just picks up AM or FM frequencies. Same with a radar detector, but instead of AM or FM frequencies, it detects the cops speed gun. When it detects the cops electromagnetic wave it gives of some kind of beep or warning. Then as the signal of the radar gets stronger, the beep will get faster.
